My RS Hip (Dr. Gross, 2001, Corwin Device) was replaced by Dr. Gross on Jan. 17 after giving me increasing trouble since Jan. 07. The surgical technique and my patient experience much improved since '01. New hip (Corwin supplied) takes full weight from day one and feels super strong. Dr. Gross used the large ball replacement and assures me that the outcome will be excellent with a range of motion that will make me complete again. The anesthesia (Spinal injection) and pain control (spinal morphine) was much, much better than before. Crutches get dropped at one week and cane walking starts with a mile a day at six weeks. This is a big difference from '01. When I get a full report on why the RS failed I will post. Jim A in SC RS hip revsion at 7 days
Hip revision (RS,Gross,2001,Corwin device) was done Jan.17 (Gross,Corwin
replacement) and today I am walking around the house w/cane feeeling no pain and
feeling like I could walk a mile. I am stiff but my stride is already smoothing
out. It is with great relief that I can go from a terrific RS to THR with such
apparent success. Dr. Gross is one very, very good surgeon IMO.
