PHOENIX – Patients with hip fractures who also take warfarin have a quicker correction of INR when they receive vitamin K within 4 hours of admission, according to study results presented at the Orthopaedic Trauma Association Annual Meeting, here.
…Jacob Lantry, MD, said. “Early administration of resulted in 75% of patients having surgery within 24 hours.”
…Patients who received vitamin K had a 1.3 correction in their INR within 24 hours compared with the control group, according to post hoc analysis.
